Kerrenos

Drifting Away

In a niche behind the altar was a large statue carved from obsidian.  Standing on a sphere X-ed in steel, was a human with the snarling face of a lion; flickering light between its pointed teeth.  A serpent bound it, wrapped seven times round it.  A woman’s breasts were revealed; genitals were concealed.  Centered above the lion’s eyes a serpentine head glittered.
